Michael Connelly has won the 2012 Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction for The Fifth Witness, which stars his recurring character Mickey Haller representing a woman accused of killing a banker during a foreclosure case. John Grisham won the inaugural prize last year for The Confession.
