Target to Stop Selling Kindles
Target will stop selling the Amazon Kindle in its stores—the latest development in an ongoing feud between Amazon and its offline competitors. Target, which announced the news on Thursday, is one of the largest sellers of the Kindle in the offline world. The retailer is apparently angry over Amazon’s so-called “showrooming,” such as when Amazon offered a 5 percent discount for any product scanned at Target and then bought online at Amazon. Target said that carrying Amazon products is “like Starbucks Dunkin’ Donuts gift certificates.”
