I regard publication of every issue of Landfall as a significant event but I must say that issue 222 released this week is very special indeed. Not only is a beautiful object to view and hold but the work from a range of Christchurch writers following the September and February quakes, in both prose and poetry, is both moving and affecting. And then there is there is the tribute to Allen Curnow, for the centenary of his birth, in which fellow writers remember and celebrate him and his literary life.
There is much more too of course but the Christchurch and Curnow pieces are the jewels.
My congratulations and thanks to publisher, editor and contributors, together you have created something very special.
For me Landfall 222 is a steal at $29.95 and one every bibliophile must have a copy his home bookshelf.
