Writers & Readers Week got off to a great start last night with over a thousand people in the audience at the Town Hall for Opening Address speaker, environmentalist Tim Flannery. A post-show function hosted by Mayor Celia Wade Brown in the Council Chambers provided the perfect setting for the visiting writers to meet and mingle, ahead of a packed weekend of literary excitement featuring Germaine Greer, Denise Mina, Alan Hollinghurst and Norwegian crime writer Jo Nesbo. With sessions at just $18 (excl bkg fees) or $10 for students, Writers & Readers Week runs until Wednesday 14 March. View the full programme.
