Barney Rosset, founder and former owner of Grove Press New York has died. In 1982 he published an American edition of my anthology, Fifteen Contemporary NZ Poets which I've been told is still held in more than 200 American Libraries.
James Laughlan, founder of New Directions who died some time ago, also had NZ connections as in the 1930's he published some of Frank Sargeson's short storties (he kept in contact with Sargeson up until his death) and in New Directions 46 (1983) printed a mini anthology of NZ poetry.
These were two great men and giants of American literature and publishing so perhaps your readers should hear something about them.
